Older commercial buildings often use outdated “set-it-and-forget-it” air-conditioning settings that overcool air to control humidity, wasting energy. Research shows that slightly increasing these temperature set points can significantly reduce energy use while maintaining comfort. This low-cost adjustment could cut air-conditioning demand across much of the United States.
