Maternal undernutrition in rural Ethiopia remains highly prevalent at 38 percent. This thesis identifies key drivers including gender inequality, poor nutritional counseling, and cultural food taboos. Using human-centered design, a “couples forum” intervention was developed and validated, showing strong feasibility and cultural acceptability as a promising community-based solution.

This research examines the gendered experiences of women in sports media in Ireland and the UK. Through interviews, it reveals how visibility brings heightened scrutiny, abuse, and self-censorship. The work highlights the emotional toll of working in male-dominated media and calls for institutional support beyond surface-level representation.
My research analyzes historical data from 350 rural counties in the Russian Empire to measure the impact of hiring the first female physicians. Using causal statistical methods, it shows that women doctors dramatically reduced infant mortality and improved overall health, largely by increasing women’s access to care and boosting healthcare quality.
